The Wide Gape X is a further development of the Wide Gape, designed for fishing in snaggy waters. The Wide Gape X is made from a thicker steel than the standard version of the Wide Gape. In addition, the tip of the hook is reinforced. The Wide Gape X can be fished with a variety of rigs. With shrink tubing over the eye of the hook, the Wide Gape X creates an aggressive presentation that few carp can match. With a rig ring on the hook shank, the Wide Gape X is also suitable for constructing a blowback rig – as our Danny Fairbrass likes to do. The anti-eject effect can also be achieved with the Wide Gape X if you put a shrink tube on the leg to hold the hair in place. You can find more information on this in our rig building instructions.
